Jason O' Brien BSc
I originally learned of my love of sport at an early age while competing in a local race. I won it quite convincingly so I decided to see where things went by joining my local athletics club. While training there I was very successful, winning countless All Ireland titles in track, indoors, cross-country and mountain running. I was very fortunate competing internationally and being invited to events such as the Tailteann Games.
Unfortunately, I became injured just as I became eligible for an athletics scholarship to a major American university. I was out for nearly 2 years!
Once recovered I decided that if I could not compete anymore, I would help others. I undertook a Bsc in Sport & Exercise Science, specializing in coaching, injury rehabilitation and running biomechanics. I also gained other qualifications along the way such as athletics coaching awards, spin class instructor awards and became a member of BASES (the British Association of Sport and Exercise Science) and REPs, (Registered Exercise Professionals) as an level 3 advanced instructor. I have since worked as a fitness and wellbeing adviser as well as a personal trainer and a class instructor within the top corporate club in the UK, winning the flame award 3 years in a row (which is a major achievement and a 1st for any club).
I currently specialize in personal training, running coaching, post injury rehabilitation, weightloss, sport specific coaching e.g. football and improving cardiovascular fitness but I am constantly looking to add to and improve my skills.

The main criteria for an instructor to meet before joining us is that they must hold at least a Bsc in Sports & Exercise Science. Other qualifications will be considered as long as they come from a scientific background (such as exercise physiology) and will not be employed if only holding a coaching, personal training or gym instructor qualification. The aim is to provide you with results using tried and tested means found through extensive research, be it academic or first hand.
